To kick off the recent Young Talents Day, our Managing Director Axel Schönau personally welcomed our young talents and took them on a journey through his 26-year career in marketing: from his entry into the professional world, through the exciting evolution of the marketing industry over the past decades, to the current challenge of where marketing is headed in the future. Particularly exciting was the open exchange, during which Axel took ample time to answer the many curious questions from our young talents in direct conversation.
Afterward, our departments opened their doors. Whether Media Tech, Brand Strategy, Paid Social, PIA Advertising, SEA, or Client Service—our subject matter experts introduced their respective fields and gave our young talents concrete insights into their day-to-day work. This brought home just how diverse and exciting our work at PIA Media is.
Another special highlight was the personal stories shared by our long-time colleagues Danielle Kruse and Heike Zumbroich. The two spoke about their professional careers at PIA Media and provided our young talents with valuable insights to help them launch their own careers. These were exactly the kinds of experiences and tips that are often lacking during college.
Afterward, it was our young talents’ turn to take the lead: Working in groups, they developed a complete media campaign as part of a real-world case study—with a fixed budget, clear objectives, and a defined timeline. Each team then presented their results, impressively demonstrating the potential, strategic thinking, and creativity our young talents possess.
As befits an agency, a joint after-work gathering with beer pong, delicious pizza, and cold drinks provided a relaxed conclusion to round off the day perfectly and get to know each other even better.
Above all, one thing became particularly clear once again at the end of the day:
Without our interns, dual-track students, and working students, we certainly wouldn’t be the agency we are today. Our young talents are an integral part of our success and the very heart of PIA Media.
